Seedling spotlights the impactful lives of five extraordinary leaders
AUSTIN, TEXAS, February 7, 2019—Seedling, an Austin non-profit organization whose mission is to support children challenged by parental incarceration with innovative, research-driven, school-based mentoring, announces the five extraordinary community leaders who will be honored as Austin’s Fab Five on April 6, 2019 at the Westin at the Domain from 6:30-10pm. VIP reception from 6:00 to 6:30. The honorees will be:

Jan Goss-Gibson – CEO, Civility Consulting
Neil Webber – Founder, Chair, Webber Family Foundation
“We are excited to be celebrating the achievements of five such extraordinary individuals, who have impacted so many through their leadership, community service, personal stories and philanthropy,” said Executive Director Dan Leal. “By shining a light on the successes of these amazing leaders, we hope to showcase the potential impact every person can have in our world – including the 8,000 children living in the Austin area who have had a parent who has been incarcerated.”
The purpose of Seedling’s Austin;s Fab Five event is to raise much-needed funds for Seedling’s Mentor Program serving children challenged by parental incarceration and to recognize five exceptional people who have had a significant impact on our community. Proceeds from the event will allow us to provide our students with hope, resiliency, and a vision for a bright future.
Austin’s Fab Five celebration will be held at The Westin at The Domain on April 6, 2019. The event will include a cocktail hour and dinner as well as a live and silent auction. Sponsorship opportunities are available for $1,800 – $15,000. VIP sponsors will have face to face time and photo ops with honorees prior to the program. Seedling is a non-profit organization, serving the Austin area by providing children of incarcerated or deported parents with a long-term, positive relationship of a caring adult mentor, who helps them navigate the challenges experienced during an extended period of family separation and develop or maintain positive attitudes towards education. Seedling recruits volunteers from the community, matches them with eligible children, and offers ongoing support to both children and mentors. Since 2006, Seedling Mentor Program has served over 2,000 students on 150+ campuses in 11 districts and 16 charter schools in Austin and Central Texas.
